All Sportsboy Wanted to Do Was Just Help

Sportsboy's teacher emailed me yesterday to tell me that Sportsboy picked up other children's backpacks off the floor when their teacher told those specific children to do them. Sportsboy's teacher wanted the other children to learn responsibility. I explained to his teacher in an email that Sportsboy likes to help and that he has done other activities so he could learn valuable lessons in human compassion.

Sportsboy's teacher emailed me today and said that she gave Sportsboy extra jobs to help in the classroom during free time. He loved it. He came home today and told me that he was a special helper. He felt very proud of himself. Sportsboy's teacher mentioned that in the email as well.

His teacher and I agreed that Sportsboy has to be taught boundaries when helping others because it is important for others to take responsibilities of their actions and not to rely on others to "rescue" them.
